Cheer Hell
“SOMEONE around us thinks they are so much better than us” Parker Pierce, a junior and Varsity cheerleader said carousing with her other cheerleading friends.
“Yeah, I know, she thinks she could be on Varsity right now” Lana Griffin smiled as she piled her long blonde hair on top of her head, getting ready for cheerleading practice.
“She’s so stupid” Parker continued on.
“Freshman..” Lana laughed, pulling out a small mirror from her cheerleading bag.
“I mean since she thinks she can do such a better job, then maybe we should let her show us” Lana continued laughing looking at her fellow seniors. All the Junior Varsity cheerleaders were already stretching together and getting ready to work on their jumps.
“We’re going to watch ya’ll do your jumps” Lana said authoritatively, after all, she was the Varsity head cheerleader.
“Hayden, you’re up first” Parker said meanly.
“But I’m not even the first one in the line” Hayden said confused.
“Yeah, but we want to see you do your jumps first” Parker was being a bossy bitch. But, Hayden was catching on, they were talking about her when they were complaining about a freshman thinking she was better.
Hayden suddenly remembered a time when she was dating Jon and she thought she could somewhat trust him, when she told him that the Varsity cheerleaders sucked and that the Junior Varsity were so much better. Of course, since Parker and Jon were best friends and grew up together, he blabbed his big fat mouth, and now the Varsity cheerleaders were being haters. God, where’s the loyalty? Obviously Jon had none for Hayden.
“Toe touch, come on Hayden” Lana said.
“Ew, that’s so ugly, point your toes, and do something about the fact that you don’t go very high” Parker added in. Hayden, already sensitive about her weight, thought that was some comment about how she had gained weight; typical girl.
“What did you do to them?” Nina Pearl whispered, standing behind Hayden in the jump line.
“Oh God, it’s a long story” Hayden sighed and rolled her eyes.
“Okay, that’s enough, we just wanted to see Hayden’s jumps, to see if she would be up to par for Varsity” Lana smirked, hoping to get her point across to Hayden.
“Junior Varsity, you can go do your own thing now, whatever it is you do” Parker said as she stood there by herself, the other Varsity cheerleaders had already started walking off to go practice- because they really needed it.
Blake made her way over to Hayden with Madison Crumb attached to her hip, pretty much, which was unusual.
“They are pissed off at you” Madison laughed, thinking she was funny and that she was such a jokester.
“Yeah I know” Blake chimed in, she always seemed to need someone else to start her sentences or her thoughts.
“Okay that’s enough girls, let’s start working on our cheers” Sarah Hadcock, the sophomore junior varsity cheerleader exclaimed, relishing her power she had over the little freshman. She had a big round head anyways. Could the power make it even bigger?
FOR MY EYES ONLY! HAYDEN WINTERS DIARY
Journal Entry: February 17, Monday:
It’s definitely been an interesting day……
Not only is it Monday, so as usual things are already a little off, but at lunch today Kate bursts my little happy bubble by telling me that Jon and Mica Clark are now dating. That’s just so strange, since I used to date him, and me and Mica were friends, but I guess not now, because Tori is her best friend and they all think I’m some kind of freshman slut who wants to steal all the senior guys away from their girlfriends. Not true.
Then I get to hear how Kaitlin has a new boyfriend, Roman Watson, and how they are so happy. You don’t need me to explain though, because you already know how freaking annoyed I am with Kaitlin Davy right now, oh my God she drives me crazy. Gag me, seriously.
Then those two boys I met a while back from La Porte transferred to Erik the Red. First I heard about it at lunch, and then I saw it for myself on my way to class from lunch. They were both kind of stalkerish for a while after I met them, but maybe they can find someone else to be stalkerish with. I asked them why they transferred though, and Casey Wurzbach told me it was because he wanted to play football for Erik the Red and he seriously thinks he’s going to be on Varsity next year. Then all Dek Watts said was that he transferred because Casey is his best friend. Isn’t that a little bit gay? But I guess that’s none of my business. As if all of that isn’t enough for one day, I have to put up with Blake and Peter Perry being lovey dovey and it sucks because I never told anyone this but I secretly liked him before him and Blake started dating. I guess you lose out when you don’t speak up? Now I can’t say anything to anyone, and my secret crush doesn’t matter because he is with Blake. Another thing about Blake, she has been stuck up Madison Crumb’s ass, and that’s a new thing. Are they new best friends or something?
Okay, and so the last thing that happened to me today was at the beginning of cheer practice, all the Varsity cheerleaders were saying loud enough for me to hear that there was a freshman who thinks she is so much better than them and how she could be on Varsity……
And then it dawned on me, they were totally talking to me. I know this because not only did they make me do jumps in front of them by myself and then criticized them so rudely, but I remember telling Jon when we were dating how bad I thought the Varsity cheerleaders suck….and Jon and Parker Pierce are like best friends, and they grew up together, so of course he told her. What a big huge asshole.
I need to take a deep breath. And I’m going to go check my email!
Love Always,
Hayden
